Rafaello.

Is it really May? Or am I mixing up seasons? Recently it's been so freaking hot outside that the only way to bear is dressing as airy as possible. Or to daze yourself like I did:

I actually stole those beauties from our agency's reception counter yesterday night as nobody will enjoy them over the weekend.

My little dear still needs a name. I'd like to hand that over. Do you have ideas?

I'm feeling blue, so blue.

I've got a hangover, girls. Drank far too much beer yesterday night. That's what made me look decent while boozing – at least.

Funny old men: Jon Bon Jovi.

Girls, guess what, the dinner yesterday night turned out to be huge fun. Me and C. entered the massively crowded "Cuneo" and got seated somewhere in the cosy back of the restaurant which is located quite around Reeperbahn. I made myself comfortable and when I had a look around the place I noticed that I was sitting face to face with Jon Bon Jovi. Him plus an entire entourage had dinner there the table next to ours and the whole sitaution reminded me a little of "The Sopranos". All of them where terribly bad dressed and kind of yelling and joking around all the time. They boozed a lot of red wine and plyed with their iPhones and mobiles also like the whole time. Me and my boyfriend had nice meals and a lot of fun making jokes on those old men desperately trying to stay young.
Every now and then I caught them looking my way. Since I still wore yesterday's colourful arrangement.

That's what I wore today. Since the dress is so short I combined with a matching skirt.

And that's the shoes. Some Indian folkloristic shoes.

United colors of Dotti.

Please don't get a shock. I put on a little colour to balance all the grey which tried to dull Hamburg today. I considered it as my personal mission to be a little alarming, like the girls and boys in all those Benetton commercials, and wake up everybody around.
Well, I'm off now for dinner with my boyfriend. And of course I'm not going to tone down even a bit: not that he is going to fall asleep too early.

A little sugar cookie a nice colleague gave to me today. Again: what a perfect match with my tight and shoes.

I'm soo sorry. But I'm just in love with that scarf. It might appear here even more often.

Red velvet, pink satin and bananas.

Oh, Monday. All my lovely girls out there: I hope you had a better time than I had today. The only good news there was actually: My weekly "Grüne Kiste". A selection of organic vegetable, fruit, bread, eggs and milk which a lovely farmer's guy provides me with once a week – as poor me hardly has the time to do grocery shopping on the market. Sniff.
Well, I tried to fight all the grey with the brightest colours I found.

And look, unpacking the delicious box already makes me smile a little.

That's what I found in there today. I'm gonna have a salad and a few episodes of "Six feet under" now.

My morning shot, with a matching glass of coffee. What a coincidence.

Compression of joy.

This weekend I have hardly seen the sun, had no stroll through the woods, not even an icecream. Poor me. So where will I get my recreation for the next load of a week from? I fear from a sachet containing a facial mask. Plus out of ten minutes of reading excitement.

Sorry there's nothing else I can show you today.

My favourite bed socks. They're really cosy.

Flowers ('sweet william' so I learned from the dictionary) from my boyfriend.

I had a little visitor today. But unfortunately nothing suitable to award her (or his) little excursion.
Bathrobe: The Ritz Carlton, gift from my ex-boyfriend.
Socks: Burlington: gift from my recent boyfriend.

The perfect murder.

I've got this pool down in the basement. It's so 70's, a bit spooky and I consider it the perfect location for a murder or at least the set for a movie or series like German "Tatort".
That's why I hardly go there for swimming all on my own, I just used the sauna every now and then during the cold winter days. But isn't it still a cool location for my today's outfit shots?

P.S. Lovely Meri ennobled me with her "Inspiration of the week award" today. That's far too sweet of her.

Can you see the scar on my right calf. That's all what's left from my birthmark.

I adore the pattern of the dress.

Dress: of course Vintage, eBay.
Shirt: Benetton.

Ballet flats and hair bow: H&M.

Colourlessness or coolness?

What's it about today's outfit? It looks so colourless (eventhough I'm in love with the dress and its details: the houndstooth buttons and red piping), but this may be subjective. Since my day wasn't a big deal. I hardly managed the amount of work I wanted to and as there's a deadline on Monday my weekend is going to be everything else, but not a weekend. Damn. I'm going to make the best out of it. So let me start with rating this dress to be absolutely cool. Not pale.

Brownie.

Polka dots felt so familiar the day before yesterday that yesterday I quite automatically snatched for another of my dresses featuring my beloved ones. When the outfit was completed with all the brown and beige tones it rather reminded me of some Häagen-Dazs flavour. That’s why I added some colour instantly – afraid of my subconsciousness demanding for sweets all day long.

Polks Dots and Schnatterinchen.

I have the feeling that my past tries to get hold of me. Polka dots. For years I didn't wear anything not being polka dotted. – A tic or even trauma from my early childhood days, as my mother used to be a big fan of dots and everything in my surrounding had to consist of and be embellished by those. However, this popped up again when I was about to graduate from school and quite chased me through the past years. Meanwhile I use them a bit more moderate, but today was the day for a revival.

For some reason I brought Schnatterinchen along. Maybe to balance the deer of the last post. Not that she might get jealous in the end.

I love the ruffles of the dress plus the swing feeling that sticks to it.

I combined the dress with a wrapped cardigan since there was some icy wind today – but where did that come from?

That's how I started this day: in my boyfriend's shirt plus muesli with banana and coffee plus sunshine on the balcony.

Dress: Vintage, eBay.
Socks and ballet flats: H&M.
Cardigan: Mango.

A tribute.

To my old apartment. It was beautifully located, directly at Helmholtzplatz in Berlin Prenzlauer Berg. It's when it comes to this little one here that I get a bit homesick. But only a tiny little bit.

My fellow, but still nameless deer already had a great time out there.
I woke up with the most beautiful mountain panorama – every day.

Let's do the laundry.

I combine the necessary with today's outfit shoot. So come on girls, let's do the laundry together. (I hope that's not too annoying for you.)

That's what I am wearing: A red and white gingham petticoat dress, a white eyelet apron and a pair of red leather loafers – they are so comfy and yet lovely.

You all know the rules of the game: collect enough of the same colour, put it into the machine, add detergent and let's go.

Done. And now: time for a nice coffee and some cookies. Yippie.

An useful dress.

As promised, girls. My oh so glittering dress. I adore that it features this oversized bow. What makes me forget about it being a bit short actually – something else there is to focus...
During today's lunchbreak I went to the recording of "Kerners Kochshow", a popular German cooking show on TV which is mostly attended by "silversurfers". Old ladies that are in love with the presenter, Johannes B. Kerner. I went because I was hungry and I ended up to be a lucky girl. Johann Lafer and Co. were obviously impressed enough by my dress and kind of pampered me with some lovely stuff: the best fish soup I ever had, stuffed fillet of beef, chicken with pasta, zander tortellini and finally some lime ice cream with cherries and strawberries. Not too bad.– Thanks, little dress.

That's how I wore the whole outfit. With the bow peaking out of the coat.

Lounging.

A Sunday should be reserved for lazyness. Unfortunately not for me: I still have to do tax declarations and a lot of annoying correspondance plus writing jobs today. To make the best out of it I put on my 1960's golden lounging jumpsuit, drink lots of coffee, nibble amarettinis and take some breaks for reading on the balcony every now and then.

Psssssst. I've got to concentrate.

What's all that noise? – The audience of the ATP Tennis match: Roger Federer vs. Rafael Nadal. I'm just living next to the stadium...

I hate this administrative stuff. That's Germany at it's best.

Hamburg vs. Berlin.

Some friends from home ask me from time to time when I am planning to come over to Berlin again. It scares me to hear myself answering then: "Hm. Don't know. Maybe in a month or so. Wouldn't you like to come here instead?" Everything inside myself tries to avoid going. What is that?

Well, I guess I just dropped the anchor.

Sailor Heidi.

That's what I wore today. I couldn't decide between Heidi and sailor girl style, so I just mixed. What means that I simply moved some mountains next to the sea. Wasn't a hard thing to do actually.
By the way, the sailor girl dress is one of the pieces I spent some hours with last weekend. The hem was a complete mess and I had to sew it by hand. Of course I could have used the machine, but therefore I would have had to get it out of the cellar. This appeared so much more stressful to me in that moment that I didn't. And got a little tanned while sitting and sewing on my balcony as for a reward. Was it worth it, girls?

Didn't get out of bed today. In a way.

Finally home! This day seemed neverending. My concentration has gone after writing tons and tons of commercial copies today. I'll try to compensate all the thinking with cooking a risotto and being a decent housewife tonight. Isn't that a good plan?

P.S. And oh, I found another maxidress right at the end of my closet – a red and white houndstooth one with some lace details on it – actually a nightgown. Uhps, good night.

P.P.S. I got mail today. A beautiful dress with an oversized bow coming straight out of the 60's.

P.P.P.S. I watched a bird and picked some flowers during lunchbreak.

Look, my new and super duper cute brocade dress. It fits so nicely what I hopefully can show you soon enough.

Goth girl vs. Snow White.

In order not to provoke vertigoes or sickness around me I still have to cover the scar which embellishes my right leg. The tiny problem about: I notice that there aren't too many more maxidresses left in my closet. Today I already had to wear black. Not a very suitable dress for the first sunny days of the year. I tried my best to make it look half way optimistic. Well, not so sure when it comes to the second pic though...

Roses, cherries, gingham and a green salad.

Everything out there is in full blossom. This morning I wanted that for myself, too. Thanks to my huge wardrobe it's not been a problem. It felt like picking flowers when I chose one piece of clothe after the other. First the long cherry gingham skirt, then my rosy blouse and at last my pink rose slippers. All items I left out in the cold for years. I'm happy that all three of them forgave me that little fauxpas and made my day comfy.

Sailor boys and a peacedove.

This year's Hamburg "Hafengeburtstag" is my second one, but the first one for me when living in Hamburg. Of course I had to go and see all those ships and smell the promising air of the wide world.
I saw so many sailors – somehow they all look stunning: tanned, with nicely cut hair, covered with freckles and in their uniforms... Aah. I went on a Finnish war-ship which was kind of strange as I am a girl that loves it peacefully. But I figured myself as a little peacedove with my white maxidress and shoes floating over the grey planking... I even was saluted by one of the cute Finnish sailor boys.

That was a huge mirror ball – can you see me taking the picture?

My white dress – it's got floor-length.

Summer.

Girls, it's unbelieveable: Today was again – the 10th day in a row – so sunny. Actually without a single cloud. Since I had to see the doctor around noon who pulled down my bandage I decided to wear a maxidress: as my calf just doesn't look that delicious at the moment and the sun would be too aggressive for the fresh skin. The rest of the day I spent sewing and repairing some clothes on my balcony. Later on my man and me, we went down to the water, the Alster, for a drink: an Alsterwasser (beer with limonade) to be precise.

Ouch. It hurts. But only very, very little.

Due to yesterday's little operation I had a quite painful night and day, but for you I pretend that's been a fantastic Wednesday since I pulled one of my favourite Vintage cardigans out of the closet. And found some nice white flowers on my limpy way home...

Bye.

I had to say today. Not to you or anyone else, but to a part of me: my birthmark. I had it removed today. And since it's been there for as long as I can remember it almost was a little sad in a way. But sorry, I didn't want to bother you with that rather unappetising topic.
The day in short: Freshly squeezed orange juice as a starter, sun, a blue and white gingham dress, picked daisies.

My dearest aspargus, please bear with me.

Wow. I expected this day to be completely different. To be precise: more relaxed. Since it started all so bright and chilly. With a fresh coffee outside, wrapped in my oh so lovely dressing gown. And after that I searched through my cookbook to find something nice to prepare for dinner. But as I had to stay in the agency until 11 I hardly will start a food orgy now. There's some hope left I can make my plan come true tomorrow night since I had some delicious green aspargus in my "Grüne Kiste" today. Yummie!

Hair. Too beautiful for this world.

I found this picture on Face hunter which just makes me sigh. I love the slightly oily look of her hair and all the twirling in this and that and the other direction... Awwww. Plus: She's got a beautiful profile.

Ode to the sea. By a peasant girl.

It's a repitition, I know, but once again it's been a massively sunny day today which lured me outside. To the beach, in fact. I didn't make it to the sea, but to the Elbe. Hamburg's one big advantage of site. When still in Berlin I always dreamt of a big harbour and everything that comes with such. And now I finally have it. The harbour and the large river with real tides plus the biggest ships. I'm in love with this city. So much more than with my hometown that everybody nowadays seems to flock to...

I want to sail away.

I wrote headlines and thought of some catchy claims, I searched through the net for some moderation input all day long – I definately had to reward myself this afternoon. Thought of some icecream, watching sailboats on the Alster and a little ride on my bike. Therefore I got dressed, I was in the mood for some cherry cherry red.

Banana pancakes.

Damn, it's such a nice and sunny day, but I've got tons of work on my desk. To ease evrything a little I rewarded myself with some sun on my balcony and a couple of banana pancakes. In advance, of course. I just switched what grandmothers always used to say: Pleasure before business.

Busy bee.

I went out yesterday, tonight's the night to do some household stuff. I'm doing the laundry, take an inventory on my pantry, I'm sorting out stuff to sell on eBay, reply to mails, enjoy some of my favourite sweeties, chocolate bananas, and finally have a nice little meal: fennel risotto. Yummie.

The egg was first. Then there was the hen.

At least today. As I started the morning with yummie creamy scrambled eggs and after that headed for the zoo "Hagenbeck". Which turned out to be a semi-good idea since it was massively crowded. Half of Hamburgs families with at least triplets ran around. But hey, nevermind, it still was a nice and lazy day. With icecream, elephants, tigers, chimpansees, sharks, the funniest and most beautiful fish I've ever seen and at last: a few hens.
